Shin Sihan

Violinist Shin Sihan was born in 1994 and entered his first violin classes at the age of six. A year and a half later, he started receiving tutelage from Coosje Wijzenbeek. Since 2011, he has been studying with Vera Beths at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. As a soloist, Mr Sihan has appeared as the partner of - among others - Ed Spanjaard and Daan Admiraal, and in collaboration with orchestras including the Royal Concertgebouw Camerata, National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra. He was 1st prize winner of the Iordens Viooldagen (the national violin competition for the very young in the Netherlands) twice in a row (2006 and 2008). In 2007 he received the Bach Sonderpreis at the 12th Internationale Wettbewerb für Violine Kloster Schöntal, Germany. Mr Sihan is also an ardent chamber musician and acts as the primarius of the Animato Quartet. He plays a violin made by Enrico Rocca in 1895 graciously given in loan by the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
