Ms Oshima was given her first violin classes at the age of five by Kyoko Kashiwagi in the US. Then she returned to Japan in 2005 and was taking violin courses with Akiko Ueda and Aya Hirata. Since 2009, she has been working under the tutelage of Takashi Shimizu. Just a year later, she won 1st prize at the Nagoya Student Competition, then in 2011, she came first at the Osaka International Competition. In 2014, she won 1st and three special prizes at the All Japan Student Competition, and since then she has been giving regular recitals at the NHK Radio. She was victorious at the Yokohama International Competition in 2015, then in 2016, she came second at the Zigeunerweisen International Violin Competition. She is now studying at the Tokyo University of Arts with Takashi Shimizu.
