Yoerae Kim was born in 1990 in Toronto and received her first violin lesson at the age of five. From 1999 until 2007, she studied at the Special School for Exceptional Young Talents at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music with András Kiss and Miklós Szenthelyi. From 2007 until 2012, she was taking classes with Roman Nodel at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts, where she also graduated from. After the completion of her studies, Ms Kim played in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich 2 years as a scholarship student and then received a 2-year contract as first violinist. She has taken summer- and masterclasses with Shmuel Ashkenasi, Zakhar Bron, Michael Frischenschlager, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Eszter Perényi and Marianne Piketty and is currently the concert master of the State Theatre in Kassel.
