Arai Takamori

Nagoya-born Takamori Arai started playing the violin at the age of 6 with the SuzukiMethod. At the age of 14, he began studying with Eriko Ichikawa at the Nagoya Music Academy,and at the age of 18 he entered Tokyo University of the Arts and took lessons with Takashi Shimizu. As the recipient of a scholarship, he studied with Eduard Schmieder in Boyer College of Temple University. Currently, Mr Arai is participating in the PhD programme at the Tokyo University of the Arts with Takashi Shimizu, Eszter Perényi and Pierre Amoyal. He has been a winner of numerous competitions and in 2014, he was selected the soloist of the Musical Activity Supporting System organised by the Yamaha Music Foundation.
