Reika Sakamoto graduated at Toho Gakuen College Music Department’s Soloist Diploma Course under Koichiro Harada and Michiko Kamiya, and after at Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (Switzerland) in its master program specialized for music performance. Since 2020 she continues her studies at Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien under Pavel Vernikov. She was admitted to the Orchestra Academy of the Czech Philharmonic at a top record among the other violin section contestants and completed the program in 2023. She won numerous awards such as the first prize at the European Soloist Competition, second prize in memoriam of Stefan Balkanski at the Sixth International Violin Competition “Vasco Abadjiev” in 2021, and was semi-finalist at George Enescu International Competition in 2022. As a soloist, she performed at Concertgebouw, at Beethoven-Haus Bonn, at Teatro La Fenice, at Museum of Music in the Sheremetev Palace, as well as with Savaria Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Czech Republic, Danubia Orchestra in Hungary, and Orchestre de Saint-Maurice in Switzerland, among others.
