The members of the Korossy String Quartet started working together in 2018, mentored by Péter Kováts. The following year they won the Weiner Leó National Chamber Music Competition and were invited to the Quartettissimo Festival. In recent years, they have attended master classes of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) and IMS Prussia Cove in Budapest, among others, and numerous prominent and prestigious artists – Katalin Kokas, Barnabás Kelemen, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt, Márta Gulyás and György Pauk – help them in their work. They appear at renowned festivals such as the Auer Festival in Veszprém, the Quartettissimo and the Festival Academy Budapest. They have performed in prestigious Hungarian concert halls, such as that of the Liszt Academy and the Marble Hall of the Hungarian Radio. The mission of the Korossy String Quartet is to carry on Hungary’s deservedly famous string quartet tradition and to present the widest possible repertoire to Hungarian and international audiences.
