Names of shortlisted candidates will be published on 22 June
We are utterly delighted to announce that an unexpected number of young talents have applied for this year's Bartók World Competition for violinists. Live rounds start on 3 September with preliminaries.
As evaluation of such a large number of video submissions takes longer, list of competitors being invited to Budapest for the live rounds will be announced on 22 June, instead of the original 15 June. Kristóf Baráti, Géza Kapás and Péter Kováts, professors at Liszt Academy, will be members of this pre-selection jury.
Preliminaries and semi-finals of the competition will be held in Solti Hall of Liszt Academy, and audiences are welcome to attend free of charge, up to the capacity of the hall. Tickets are now on sale for the finals on 9 September and the gala concert on 10 September on the website of Liszt Academy
