Gala Concert with live stream on 28 November
Prize winning works will be played by the most outstanding young Hungarian string quartets.
All the excitement of so many months will be condensed in the Solti Hall of the Liszt Academy of Music, at the Gala Concert of the Bartók World Competition.
The pre-selection jury, chaired by Gyula Fekete, selected 16 compositions out of the record number of 348 valid applications, that will advance to the next stage. The international jury had choosed the 3 winner pieces and three more for Honorable Mention.
So we had invited seven young composers to the event, but the pandemic situation came and we had to organize the Gala Concert without audience and guests. The prize the contestants won will still be revealed at the concert, only we can't see their faces as they hear their names achieving a prize - at the Bartók World Competition, which is dating back only 4 years, but considered among the most prestigious music competitions.
So part of the program is a surprise, another part is a tribute to Bartók in the performance of the most outstanding young Hungarian string quartets. The program of the Gala is available here.
Live stream will be available on the website and Youtube channel of the Liszt Academy.
