Ji-Youn Shin (piano)
The soloist of the evening is Korean pianist Ji-Youn Shin, Vice Dean in School of Music, Professor of music in piano, and chair of the Piano Department at Seoul Cyber University. Graduated from Yonsei University, received Master’s degree(MM) and Performer Diploma(PD) from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and Doctorate from Boston University. Awarded winning prizes at Han Kook Ilbo Newspaper Music Competition, the IBLA Grand Prize International Competition, Bartok-Prokofiev-Kabalevsky International Competition, and the “School of Music Merit Award” at the Indiana University School of Music, also received a Music Fellowship at the Hampden Sydney Music Festival in the United States. Published a book “A Comparative Study of Twentieth Century Sonatinas for Piano by Maurice Ravel and Serge Prokofiev” in 2011 by Lambert Academic Publishing in Germany.
