The pianist Zifan Ye was born in Inner Mongolia, China, and received his first piano lessons at the age of five. Three years later, he began his professional studies with Xi You at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Since 2017, he has been studying at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media under Gerrit Zitterbart (2017–2021), Michel Béroff (2019–2022), and Arie Vardi (since 2021). In 2022, he won third prize at the 17th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition, making him the youngest laureate. Zifan Ye currently lives in Hanover, Germany, and continues his musical career in Europe and Asia. He recently completed an almost three-month-long solo concert tour in collaboration with China Poly Theatre. From August to October 2024, he gave solo recitals in major theaters and concert halls across nearly 40 cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Xiamen, Zhengzhou, and Changsha. He is currently preparing a CD recording scheduled for release in late December 2025. His debut album featuring works by Brahms is set to be released in January 2026.
