Yuna Nakagawa earned her Bachelor’s degree under Barbara Szczepanska at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf. In 2024, she completed her Master’s degree at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, where she studied with Prof. Hisako Kawamura. She is currently continuing her education in the Konzertexamen program there. Her artistic accomplishments include winning first prize at the International Piano Competition of the Chopin Society in Hanover in February 2023. She has also been recognized at competitions such as the International Grotrian-Steinweg Piano Competition, the Steinway Piano Competition in Braunschweig, the International Hans von Bülow Competition in Meiningen, and the International Balys Dvarionas Piano Competition in Lithuania. At the age of fourteen, she was awarded a fellowship from the Werner Richard–Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation and gave her debut solo recital. In 2021, she was honored with the Förderpreis of the Köhler-Osbahr Foundation. As a soloist, Yuna has appeared at international festivals such as the Gradus International Piano Festival in Denmark, the International Music Festival “From Chopin to Górecki”, and the Saturday Chopin Recitals in Żelazowa Wola, Poland.
