Mitsuki Fukuhara is a Japanese pianist currently based in Essen, Germany. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at Osaka Kyoiku University in 2020 he moved to Germany and earned his Master’s degree at Folkwang Universität der Künste where he is now pursuing the Konzertexamen postgraduate program. Throughout his academic and professional career, Fukuhara has demonstrated a deep commitment to both the interpretive and technical aspects of classical piano. His musical achievements include a broad range of competition successes and concert appearances across Europe and Japan. In 2022, he won First Prize at the Köhler-Osbahr Foundation Competition in Germany, followed by another First Prize in 2023 at the Folkwang Preis, a competition open to all instruments at Folkwang University. Fukuhara has been recognized as a finalist or semi-finalist in numerous international competitions, including the Premio Alkan Competition in Italy, the International Animato Piano Competition in Paris, the International Hans von Bülow Competition, and Piano Campus 2023 in France. His competition record also includes top placements in earlier years, such as the 2nd and 3rd prizes at major university-level competitions in Japan, including the Osaka International Music Competition.
