Pianist and composer Mateusz Rettner obtained a master’s degree with distinction from the Royal College of Music, London, where he studied with Dina Parakhina and Leon McCawley. Previously he studied at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, Germany (with Nicolas Hodges) and the Academy of Music in Łódź. He attended master classes by Dmitri Bashkirov, Kirill Gerstein, Andrzej Jasiński, Philippe Giusiano, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Michel Béroff, Laurent Lamy, Wojciech Świtała and others. He is currently studying for a PhD at the Academy of Music in Kraków. His most recent successes include receiving the Mercers’ Arts Award as well as first prize in the Brooks-van der Pump Competition in London. Mateusz Rettner’s performance career as a soloist and chamber musician has taken him to some of the most prestigious venues in the UK as well as Poland, Germany and the United States.
