Katalin Gonda completed her music studies at the Bartók Béla Secondary School of Music as a student of Mariann Ábrahám and Judit Kékesi, and at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music under Gábor Eckhardt and Attila Némethy. She won several prizes at the 2017 round of the Valletta International Piano Competition and 2016 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, also collecting the prize of the American Liszt Society at the latter. She won first prize at the 2015 International Béla Bartók Piano Competition in Vienna. She has taken part in many master classes including by Markus Schirmer, Boris Berman, Balázs Szokolay, Lívia Rév, Zoltán Kocsis, Mūza Rubackytė, Kenji Watanabe and Einar-Steen Nøkleberg. She participated at the Budapest Festival Orchestra’s Bernstein and Debussy–Ravel marathon, she has performed in the Guildhall School of Music, Liszt Academy, and in Nice accompanied by the Opera Philharmonique de Nice.
