Kimura Wakana studied under Masahide Fujii from the age of 4, under Nobuhiko Asaeda from the age of 8, under Professor Mauro Iurato from the age of 16. She took part in Forum Musicae International Academy, at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum, at the International Music Academy Orpheus, and currently studies at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien in Konzertfach Violine under professor Lothar Strauß, first concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Berlin. From 2021, she studies chamber music with professors Stefan Mendl and Anaïs Tamisier. She won first prizes at the Kobe International Competition in 2017, at the Forum Musicae International Academy Competition in 2019, at the 3rd “Laszlo Spezzaferri” International Music Competition in 2021, at the 7th Danubia Talents International Music Competition in Budapest in 2022 and at the Stefanie Hohl Competition in 2023, as well as second prizes at the Aoniyoshi Music Competition in 2018, at the Antonio Vivaldi International Competition in 2019 and at the 41st Concorso Internazionale di Violino “Premio Rodolfo Lipizer” in 2022.
